The Upper East Regional Communication Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Peter Ayinbisa Ayamga, has assured supporters that the party’s defeat in the 2024 general elections does not signal the end of the NPP. He expressed confidence that the party will regroup and return stronger.
The NPP’s defeat in the 2024 elections, led by Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has been described as one of the party’s most significant setbacks under the Fourth Republic. The party also suffered heavy parliamentary losses, raising concerns about leadership, strategy, and its future direction. However, Mr. Ayinbisa remains optimistic, insisting that the party will recover and win elections again.
Mr. Ayinbisa, who is seeking re-election as the Regional Communication Director of the NPP in the Upper East Region, reiterated that the 2024 defeat will not mark the end of the party’s political journey. According to him, the party will reorganize, rebuild, and return to power in 2028.
Speaking on Bolga FM’s Zina Yela programme, Mr. Ayinbisa noted that the NPP remains committed to regaining power. “The NPP will bounce back. We are a political party and one family that has stood together for many years,” he said. He further rejected suggestions that the party is beyond repair.
