The Upper East Regional Coordinator for Kennedy Agyapong’s campaign, Stanley Krugu Mort, has urged New Patriotic Party (NPP) delegates to vote for the Assin Central lawmaker in the party’s Jan. 31 presidential primaries, describing him as the candidate best positioned to return the party to power in 2028.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with A1 Radio, Mr. Mort — a former Nabdam Constituency Chairman and former Upper East Regional Organizer of the NPP — said the upcoming contest is critical to the party’s future after its 2024 electoral defeat.
“We need a candidate who can come and win massively for the NPP,” he said. “We cannot continue to stay in opposition for long. Politics is about who can give you power. We need power.”
Mr. Mort said the party must reorganize and focus on regaining its traditional strongholds while expanding support nationwide ahead of the next general elections.
He described Agyapong as “the job maker” who understands the concerns of young people and can address unemployment.
“The one who can create jobs for the teeming youth of this country — that is Kennedy Agyapong,” he said, urging delegates across the Upper East Region’s constituencies to vote decisively in the primaries.
