Mrs Perpetual Ofori-Ampofo, President of the Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association (GRNMA), has presented a cheque for GH₵8,000.00 to a sick member in the Bolgatanga Municipality to assist with his medical bills.

A statement from the GRNMA Municipal Public Relations Office indicated that Madam Veronica Issah, the Municipal Vice Chairperson, presented the cheque on behalf of the President during a brief meeting.

According to the statement, Madam Issah reminded members of the association’s welfare packages, which include a health fund, low-interest loans, and support for victims of fire or flood disasters.

Madam Issah further encouraged members to seek information directly from the GRNMA leadership to avoid being misled by misinformation from mischievous individuals within the nursing and midwifery professions.

The statement added that Mr Seidu Yahuza, the Municipal Public Relations Officer, urged members to remain united and continue to repose confidence in the leadership’s ability to advocate for their interests.

“Be patient and trust leadership to deliver,” Mr Yahuza stated.

Upon receiving the cheque, Mr James Alua, the member in good standing, expressed his appreciation to Mrs Ofori-Ampofo and the executive board, noting, “The support is timely and will significantly help settle my medical expenses.”
