Youth of Alavanyo and Nkonya, both a community in the Volta Region have decided to form a football club to be called ‘Alancos United’ in effort to solidify the peaceful relationship between them. A1 Radio Sports has learnt.
Both towns have over decades been engaged in sporadic deadly clashes over a parcel of land. The recent clash happened some few weeks ago which allegedly recorded some fatalities-preempting the government to intervene.
Accordingly, traditionally leaders of both communities were invited to the Presidency last week and after negotiations with government and a working committee both parties smoked the peace pipe.
Information reaching A1 Radio Sports Desk indicate that, in effort to solidify their recent healthy relationship and to ensure that it last forever, the youth of both towns have come to a consensus to form a football club that will be made up of players from both sides.
It is however, unclear where specifically the club will be based and at which level on the football ladder they will be competing.
