The Chief of Gaare, Naba Mwarebilsong-Naneeteng, has commended President John Dramani Mahama and his government for what he described as a swift response to concerns over rising fuel prices and their impact on local communities.

A few days earlier, the chief had called on the government to take urgent action to address increasing fuel prices, warning that the trend was imposing hardship on residents and threatening livelihoods.

In a statement issued on behalf of the traditional leadership and residents of Gaare, the chief expressed “profound gratitude” to the president for acting promptly after concerns were raised about the economic strain caused by the rising cost of fuel.

According to the statement, the government’s intervention has helped address immediate concerns and restore confidence among residents affected by the increasing cost of living.

“Your prompt attention to this matter demonstrates true leadership, a listening ear, and a deep commitment to the welfare of the ordinary Ghanaian,” the chief said.

He added that the government’s actions have renewed hope within the community, assuring residents that their concerns are heard and valued.

The chief, speaking on behalf of traditional authorities and the people of Gaare, described the government’s response as a clear indication of its commitment to addressing the needs of citizens.

“We appreciate the steps taken so far and remain confident that your government will continue to implement policies that will bring lasting relief to our people,” the statement added.

The message concluded with a pledge of continued support and cooperation from the people of Gaare towards national development efforts, along with prayers for wisdom and guidance for the president.

The commendation comes at a time when fuel prices and the broader cost of living remain key issues in national discourse, with many communities closely monitoring government interventions aimed at easing economic pressures.
