The District Directorate of Education has taken delivery of 720 mathematical sets donated by Dr. Clement Abas Apaak, the Deputy Minister for Education and Member of Parliament, in a move aimed at supporting candidates preparing for this year’s Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).

The items were officially received on behalf of the Ghana Education Service by the District Director of Education, Mr. Stephen Akumzeyam, who is expected to supervise their equitable distribution to final-year junior high school students across the district.

The donation comes at a crucial time when many candidates are intensifying preparations for the BECE, an examination that serves as a gateway to senior high school education in Ghana.

Access to essential examination materials, particularly mathematical sets, remains a challenge for some students, especially in underserved communities.

Speaking during the presentation, Mr. Akumzeyam expressed appreciation to Dr. Apaak for the intervention, describing it as both timely and impactful. He noted that the gesture would relieve parents of financial pressure and ensure that the examination is fair for all candidates, regardless of their access to basic tools.

This support will go a long way to boost the confidence of our candidates and improve their readiness for the examination,” he stated, assuring that they would distribute the items fairly to all eligible students.

The initiative highlights Dr. Apaak’s continued investment in education within his constituency and aligns with broader efforts by stakeholders to enhance teaching and learning outcomes at the basic level. Over the years, the legislator has been involved in several interventions to improve educational infrastructure and access to learning materials.

With the BECE fast approaching, the donation is expected to serve as a morale booster for candidates, positioning them for improved performance and a smoother transition to the next stage of their academic journey.
