The Department of Social Welfare has reaffirmed its commitment to protecting and promoting the welfare of vulnerable children at Hope Children’s Place and across the Upper East Region.

Speaking in an interview on Bolga FM’s Tinmaalgo Sanga, the department’s representative during the discussion, Jibri Osman Salifu, stressed the importance of creating a safe and supportive environment for children living in care homes.

He said the welfare and protection of children remain a top priority, adding that every child deserves access to quality care, education, healthcare, and emotional support to help them grow into responsible adults.

Mr. Salifu commended the management of Hope Children’s Place for its dedication and sacrifices in caring for vulnerable and underprivileged children.

He also encouraged staff and caregivers at the facility to continue showing love, compassion, and commitment toward the children under their care.

The Department of Social Welfare further called on communities, organisations, and individuals to support orphanages and child protection institutions through donations, mentorship, and other forms of assistance to improve living conditions for children.

According to Mr. Salifu, the engagement forms part of ongoing efforts by the department to monitor child welfare institutions and promote the rights, safety, and development of children within communities.
