The Chief Executive Officer of the National Ambulance Service, Dr. George Owusu, has commended Youth Employment Agency (YEA) personnel supporting ambulance operations in the Upper East Region for their dedication and professionalism.

Speaking during a parade inspection held in his honour during a working visit to the region, Dr. Owusu acknowledged the important role YEA personnel play in supporting emergency healthcare delivery.

Addressing the personnel, he encouraged them to continue learning on the job and assured them of opportunities for future recruitment into the mainstream emergency services.

“We expect you to learn on the job, and we will recruit you and add you to the mainstream emergency services,” he said.

Dr. Owusu praised the commitment of the YEA ambulance personnel, describing their contribution to emergency response services as valuable to the operations of the ambulance service.

“We appreciate everything you do, and we are happy to have you on board,” he added.

The visit formed part of efforts by the ambulance service leadership to engage regional teams and strengthen emergency response systems across the country.

Officials say the collaboration between the National Ambulance Service and the Youth Employment Agency is expected to enhance emergency medical services while providing young people with practical experience and career opportunities in the health sector.
