Charger Limited has reaffirmed its commitment to community development and youth empowerment in the Upper East Region through business-driven social interventions and reward initiatives.
Speaking during a visit to the region to provide incentives to participants of the “Collect, Drop & Win” promo, the Chief Executive Officer of Charger Limited, Emmanuel Bortey Borketey, stated that the company’s mission extends beyond the distribution of products.
“At Charger Limited, we do not just distribute products; we distribute opportunity, hope and growth,” he said.
According to him, the Upper East Region remains central to the company’s growth and operations, stressing that Charger Limited would continue to create opportunities, strengthen partnerships and deepen its impact across communities in Ghana.
Mr. Borketey highlighted several interventions undertaken by the company in the region over the years, including sponsorship of major entertainment and cultural events such as the Upper East Music Awards, Miss Upper East Ghana and the Miss Samanpiid beauty pageant.
He noted that some beneficiaries of these platforms have gone on to achieve regional and national recognition.
Beyond entertainment, he said the company has consistently invested in education and community welfare. He disclosed that Charger Limited annually distributes mathematical sets to Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) candidates to support academic excellence and reduce the burden on parents.
The company has also contributed to improving access to potable water in some communities through the drilling of boreholes, while sanitation equipment has been donated to support environmental cleanliness and healthy living.
“These initiatives reflect our belief that businesses must not only make profits but also create meaningful impact in the lives of the people,” he emphasised.
Mr. Borketey also used the occasion to promote one of the company’s flagship products, Happy Man Bitters, describing it as a product made from 100 percent pure natural herbs without additives or colouring.
According to him, the bitters, introduced in 2011, are produced from 12 different tree barks sourced from dense African forests after a 40-day extraction process to ensure quality and authenticity.
The “Collect, Drop & Win” promo, which climaxed on May 10, rewarded participants with cash prizes ranging from GH¢5,000 to GH¢50,000. Winners at the colourful event received GH¢50,000 as the top prize, while others received GH¢30,000, GH¢20,000 and GH¢10,000 respectively, alongside consolation prizes.
Some artistes who excelled at the Upper East Music Awards were also rewarded during the ceremony.
Mr. Borketey expressed appreciation to distributors, media practitioners, bloggers and participants for their support, noting that their contributions have played a significant role in the company’s growth and visibility over the years.
