aThe Vea community in the Bongo Constituency has commended Member of Parliament Lawyer Charles Bawa-Dua for donating two bicycles and financial support to two physically challenged girls, describing the gesture as an example of compassionate and inclusive leadership.
The beneficiaries, Agnes Asamane of Tangapooren and Eunice Akadoliba of Tanseko, received the bicycles on 26 May 2026. The donation is intended to ease their mobility and reduce the daily challenges they face moving within the community.
Speaking on behalf of the community, the Assembly Member for the Vea Electoral Area and Ward Secretary, Wilbert A. Apu-usum, said the donation was timely and thoughtful. He noted that it was made on behalf of the Vea Electoral Area Coordinator, zonal organiser, NDC party executives, members of the community, and the families of the beneficiaries.
“This gesture is a demonstration of compassion toward vulnerable persons in society,” Mr. Apu-usum said. “Your kindness clearly demonstrates the NDC’s commitment to inclusive development and your concern for the welfare of vulnerable persons within the constituency.”
Both beneficiaries expressed gratitude for the support. Agnes Asamane said the bicycle would significantly improve her mobility and ease her daily activities, while Eunice Akadoliba also thanked the MP for remembering persons living with disabilities.
The community further acknowledged the additional financial support provided to the beneficiaries and their families to assist with their upkeep.
Residents praised Lawyer Bawa-Dua for his continued support to the constituency, describing his leadership as caring, exemplary, and people-centred. They prayed for God’s blessings, wisdom, strength, and good health for him as he continues to serve.
The gesture has been widely welcomed in Vea, with community members saying it underscores the importance of supporting persons with disabilities and promoting inclusive development at the grassroots level.
