Namoo Senior High School in the Bongo Constituency has been added to a list of schools being considered for new boarding facilities following an intervention by former Bongo MP and Chief Executive Officer of GOIL PLC, Edward Abambire Bawa.
Mr. Bawa said he engaged Education Minister Haruna Iddrisu over infrastructure needs at the school and advocated for its inclusion in the proposed boarding infrastructure programme.
If approved, the project is expected to provide boys’ and girls’ dormitories and a dining hall at Namoo SHS.
Mr. Bawa confirmed the development in a telephone interview with Bolga FM reporter Moses Anaba Azubire following reports about the possible introduction of boarding facilities at the school.
According to him, the proposed intervention forms part of a broader education infrastructure programme expected to be supported by a GH¢3 billion facility for selected schools.
The proposed facilities would provide accommodation for students, particularly those who travel long distances to attend the school, if the project receives final approval.
Mr. Bawa said he would continue advocating for development projects for the Bongo Constituency.
“We will continue to work and push for the development our people deserve,” he stated.
Namoo SHS currently awaits a final decision on its inclusion among the schools to benefit from the proposed boarding infrastructure programme.
