The Bongo Constituency Deputy Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Patrick Anamoo, has declared his intention to seek re-election, arguing that the party’s communication strategy ahead of 2028 must extend beyond local issues to effectively communicate the broader NDC agenda.

Speaking on A1 Radio, Mr Anamoo confirmed that he will pick and file his nomination form as the party opens nominations for its internal elections.

He appealed to delegates to renew his mandate, saying his experience within the party’s communication structure and lessons from working with party members have better prepared him to contribute to the NDC’s electoral efforts in 2028.

Mr Anamoo said effective political communication in the constituency should not be limited to what he described as the “Bongo factor,” but must connect developments in Bongo to the party’s broader regional and national agenda.

“You don’t need to bring somebody who can only say the Bongo factor, but of course the NDC factor, nationally, regionally and indeed Bongo,” he said.

He believes retaining experienced communicators will help the party strengthen its messaging and effectively communicate its programmes and policies to voters ahead of the next general election.

Mr Anamoo expressed confidence that delegates would give him another opportunity to continue serving as Deputy Constituency Communications Officer.

He said another mandate would allow him to build on the work of the current communication team while applying the experience he has gained during his tenure.

Mr Anamoo is expected to pick and file his nomination as the NDC begins the process of electing new constituency executives.
