Women in Broadcasting, Upper East Region, in collaboration with Friends of Prosper, has distributed school shoes, bags and socks to pupils in four schools as part of the second day of its 2026 Back-to-School Donation exercise.
The exercise, held on Tuesday, September 15, took the team to Anateem Primary/JHS, Azorebisi KG/Primary, Sumbrungu Primary and Zaare E/A Primary School.
At the beneficiary schools, selected pupils received shoes, school bags and socks to support their return to school for the new academic year.
The intervention is intended to provide children, particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds, with some of the basic items they need to participate comfortably in school while easing the financial burden on their parents and guardians.
The school bags will help pupils carry their books and other learning materials, while the shoes and socks complement their school uniforms.
Beyond distributing the items, members of Women in Broadcasting interacted with pupils, teachers and school authorities to learn more about some of the challenges confronting children in the beneficiary schools.
At Sumbrungu Primary School, for instance, the Headmistress, Veronica Atiirimbey, highlighted challenges including inadequate furniture and learning materials and appealed for further support for the school.
The visit to Zaare E/A Primary School marked the final stop for Day Two of the exercise.
The donation follows the first day of the initiative, during which Women in Broadcasting, with support from the HappyMan Foundation, distributed exercise books, pencils, sharpeners and erasers to pupils in selected schools across the region.
Women in Broadcasting says the Back-to-School exercise will continue on Wednesday, September 16, as the group extends the intervention to more schools in the Upper East Region.
