The Upper East Regional Women Organizer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Madam Fawzia Yakubu Abagnamah, has congratulated newly elected Women Organizers and Deputy Women Organizers following the party’s constituency elections held across the region’s 15 constituencies on Saturday, October 24, 2026.

She has also urged unsuccessful aspirants to put aside their differences and rally behind the winners to strengthen the party’s women’s wing ahead of the 2028 general elections.

In a congratulatory message issued on Sunday, October 25, Madam Abagnamah commended the successful candidates for the confidence delegates had reposed in them and urged them to discharge their responsibilities with humility, dedication and commitment to serving the party and its members.

She said unity among members of the women’s wing would be crucial to building a formidable grassroots structure capable of advancing the party’s interests.

“To all aspirants who contested but were unsuccessful, I encourage you to put aside any differences arising from the elections and rally behind the winners. Our strength lies in our unity, and we must work together to build a united and formidable women’s wing capable of advancing the party’s interests,” she said.

Madam Abagnamah stressed the need for party members to prioritise collective interests over individual ambitions as the NDC prepares for the 2028 general elections.

She called for renewed efforts to strengthen grassroots structures and mobilise women to support the party’s objective of retaining power in the next general elections.

“We must remain focused on our shared objective of retaining the NDC in power in 2028,” she added.

The Regional Women Organizer also commended the Electoral Commission, the Ghana Police Service, the media and other stakeholders for their contributions to the peaceful and successful conduct of the elections across the region.

She further urged party faithful, particularly members of the women’s wing, to embrace peace, reconciliation and cooperation as the newly elected constituency executives begin their work.

According to her, although the elections have ended, the responsibility of building a stronger and more united party remains a collective task. She called on members to work together to strengthen the NDC women’s wing and position the party for victory in the 2028 general elections.
