Former Black Star defender, Sammy Osei Kuffour has called for the immediate sack of Ghana’s coach, Avram Grant for failing to qualify the team for the final of the ongoing AFCON.
According to him, Avram Grant has since coming to Ghana led a sinking Black Stars which does not give hope to future of football in the country.
Sammy Kuffour who was a panelist on Super Sports said the coach has failed to stay in Ghana to monitor the local league in order to groom the youth to replace the current generation.
“He does not stay in Ghana to watch the league. He has failed to groom the youth who will in the future take over from the current players. The future of Ghana’s football is gloomy and if the coach is not sacked we are in for problems.”
He noted that if the coach is maintained, then there will be a gloomy future for football in the country since there will be no replacement for the current crop of players.
On Ghana’s game against Cameroon, he mentioned that the team went into the game without any strategy and failed to take their chances as they came their way. A sad Kuffour indicated that the mindset the team took into this game was a defeated mindset and that affected the Black Stars.
He mentioned that there is too much politics in the Black Stars and that is very bad for the future of football in Ghana.
Ghana failed to book a place in the final after losing to Cameroon by two goals in the semi-final.
