The Chief of the Gambibgo Traditional Area, Naba Sayeed Akolmolga Anon-Egra Sadik, has called for public support for efforts by the Alagube Association to establish a Registrar-General’s Department office in the Upper East Region to improve access to business registration services.
According to the chief, the proposed office would reduce the financial burden and inconvenience faced by entrepreneurs and business owners who travel to Accra to register their businesses.
Speaking on Bolga FM’s Tinmaalgo Sanga programme, Naba Sadik said the initiative was among development efforts being pursued by the Alagube Association to improve livelihoods and create economic opportunities in the region.
He urged residents to support the activities of both the Alagube and Bonaboto associations, stressing that collective efforts were necessary to address the region’s development challenges.
Naba Sadik said establishing a local business registration office would make the process more accessible and affordable, particularly for small business owners who struggle with the cost and time involved in travelling outside the region.
He also encouraged traditional rulers to take a more active role in attracting development projects to their communities by engaging relevant government institutions.
The chief argued that traditional authorities should pursue development through established government structures rather than relying on political connections or influence.
He urged chiefs to work constructively with state institutions to secure projects and services that would improve the living conditions of their people.
