The 1992 year group of Navrongo Senior High School (NAVASCO) have donated textbooks to the school.

The books were donated on behalf of the 1992 year group by Madam Rosemary Akolaa, Director of Indigenous Women against Hunger and Poverty an NGO and other members of the year group.

Interacting with the students during the donation, Madam Akolaa said the donation is to help strengthen teaching and learning and most especially reading among the students.

She encouraged students to read broadly to broaden their knowledge and avoid social media which is currently a distraction to most students.

Madam Akolaa, also ceased the opportunity to encourage the students to take their academics very seriously because they are the future. She used herself and some other old students who were successful after passing out from NAVASCO as an example.

On his part, Mr. Robert Kampusi who received the books on behalf of the school’s headmistress was excited with the gesture by the 1992-year-old students’ group.

He mentioned that during his days in school, they did not receive textbooks as a way of encouragement to read and become useful to our society and therefore charged the students to take advantage of books to educate themselves.

He also advised the students to emulate the footsteps of the old students who have been successful in their various careers and also emulate the gesture in the coming years.
