Deputy Attorney General, Hon. Joseph Kpemka has lauded government for introducing ‘one constituency, one million dollars’ policy which will help propel development in the various parts of the country.

Hon. Kpemka was speaking on the special Easter Monday edition of A1 Radio’s flagship program, Daybreak Upper East with host, Christopher Asima.

According to him, the provision of each constituency with one million dollars for development is unprecedented because it will help ensure equal development and also supplement the District Assembly Common fund which has not been forthcoming over the years.

I have been a District Chief Executive Before and I recall the District Assembly Common Fund at the time I was in office, the entire allocation for the year was less than one million Ghana Cedis, it was about eight hundred thousand Ghana Cedis or so and even then we didn’t get all before the year ended,” the Deputy Attorney General said hailing the government for the initiative.

Hon. Kpemka who is also a Member of the Timpani constituency in the Upper East Region mentioned that he is committed to tap into the rich policies of his government in order to change the fortunes of his people and called on other Members of Parliament in the region to emulate to help in the development of the Upper East region.

The fundamentals that we need to look at are the policies that will directly impact on the people of our region and there are several of them which we can take advantage of to help develop our region and make life better for our people.”
