The Parliamentary Candidate for the Progressive People’s Party, in the Bongo Constituency in the Upper East Region, George Afari has fulfilled a promised he made to himself during the 2016 campaign, at Zorkor Gamborigo.
The PPP Parliamentary Candidate said, during the 2016 campaign, he came in contact with a 60 year old man, suffuring from Leprosy and living alone in a delapedated structure. Accoording to him, he was told the man has been living in that structure alone for over a decade.

Mr. Afari said he was touched by the plight of the old lonely man and promised to rebuild the house for him, once the campaigns were over.

But for the new house, the 60 year old man, Adiima Atugba would have been homeless this raining season, because the old building was just about collapsing when the PPP Parliamentary Candidate came in contact with him.

Mr. Afari provided all building materials while some young men, who share in his vision, provided labour to rebuild, 60 year old Adiima Atugba’s house.

Mr. Afari stressed that, his gesture is not for political gain, but extending a helping hand to a fellow human in need. He believes that, giving back to society is a Godly act and behoves on anyone has been blessed with more resources to also help others who are suffering to live decent lives.

Mr. Adiima almost in tears, thanked the PPP Parliamentary Candidate and wished him well in life.

According to him, he never expected to ever live in a decent accommodation ever again, after he was struck by Leprosy and was rejected by society and even people close to him.
