A Deputy Chief of Staff, Abu Jinapor has said some staff at the flagstaff house are nervous are the President appointed Martin Amidu as Ghana’s first Independent Special Prosecutor.
According to Jinapor who was speaking to Accra-based Metro TV, “some of us…within our own ranks, some people are somehow nervous about Mr Martin Amidu, the man is…the President says so be it. He wants a man who will check all of us and expose corruption where he finds it”.
He added that the choice of the President is appreciated as “he doesn’t want someone who excuse my language is a stooge or someone who anybody can call and say take right or left and the person will take right or left. He wants somebody who will fight corruption and fight it relentlessly.
The President of Ghana, Nana Akufo-Addo on Thursday nominated Martin Amidu as Ghana’s first Independent Special Prosecutor. He is expected to go through vetting when Parliament reconvenes for his subsequent approval.
