The prestigious Upper East Music Awards 2018 is slated for April 28.
The event is expected to take place at the Catering Rest House in the Regional capital Bolgatanga.
According to Chief Executive Officer of Lexis Entertainment, the event is expected to award hard working artistes and Entertainment personalities across the region who have worked tirelessly within the year under review.
The event which is sponsored by Charger Limited; producers of Happy Man Bitters is expected to bring movers in the music industry in the Upper East region together to celebrate their hard work.
Speaking to Chief Executive Officer of Charger Limited; producers of Happy Man Bitters, Emmanuel Bortey Boketey he indicated that his company was elated to be part of such an event to celebrate music in the Upper East region.
He indicated that music is the soul of every economy and it was imperative that artistes be celebrated for their hard work.
Nomination forms are available at selected radio stations across the region and artistes can file into the following categories
- Artiste of the year
- Most popular song of the year
- Best rapper of the year
- Hiplife song of the year
- Hip hop song of the year
- Afropop song of the year
- Reggae/Dancehall song of the year
- Gospel song of the year
- Traditional song of the year
- Male vocalist of the year
- Female vocalist of the year
- Best music video of the year
- Best record label of the year
- Best music producer of the year
- Best music promoter of the year
- Developmental song of the year
Forms are available at A1 Radio and Tanga Radio in Bolgatanga, Nabina Radio in Navrongo, Sunshine Radio in Bawku and Quality FM in Garu. Closing date for nomination is February 28. Artistes or Musicians are from the region but based outside the region equally eligible to file for nomination into any of the categories.
