8,442 candidates failed October 2020 Teacher Licensure Exam

Out of a total of 27,455 candidates who sat for the October 2020 Ghana Teacher Licensure Examination (GTLE), 8,442 representing 30.7 percent failed the examination; whiles 19,013 candidates representing 69.3 percent passed.

The National Teaching Council in a statement dated 4th January, 2021, signed by its Public Relations Officer, Dennis Osei-Owusu, said the results of some candidates have been withheld pending investigation.

The statement said the NTC was set to release the results on Tuesday, January 5, 2021.

It therefore directs that candidates can check their results from the NTC online portal at exam.ntc.gov.gh by using either their pins given during registration or their examination index number with their phone numbers.

“Candidates are advised to print their provisional certificates after checking results.” The statement added.

Conducted by the NTC to ensure that schools across the country have quality teachers, improvement in professionalism in school teaching and to prepare Ghanaian teachers to be accepted globally, the licensure examination covers Essential Teaching Skills, Numeracy and Literacy.
