The Bawku Municipal Assembly has named major streets within the municipality as part of the ongoing Street Naming and Property Addressing Exercise.
In line with President John Mahama’s directive for all Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies to name major streets in the country, the Bawku Municipal Assembly has been naming some of the streets in the Municipal capital, Bawku ahead of the September 30 deadline.
The streets have been named after persons dead or alive who have contributed to the development of the municipality. Some roads have also been named according to the towns or places they lead to.
Bawku Municipal Chief Executive, Bukari Issaku told A1 News, a lot of stakeholder consultation was done before the names for the streets and roads were chosen. He said getting some of the stakeholders to agree on some the names was a little challenging but nonetheless a consensus was reached after careful deliberations and names were adopted for the various streets and roads.
Below are pictures of some the streets and roads that have been named in Bawku.
