18 members of the National Democratic Congress in the Bolgatanga East constituency of the Upper East Region have been suspended following their misconducts and disrespect to the party and its member of parliament for the area.
The suspended members include former executives and loyal members of the party and have been quoted to have campaigned against the party and its then parliamentary candidate, Dr. Dominic Ayine during the 2020 elections.
Confirming the incident on A1 Radio’ Newslink, the Constituency Communications Director, Ibrahim Aneribazanga noted that the party will soon come out with the reasons for the suspension of its members through a media briefing.
He also added that, the party is doing a broader consultation with party leadership within the region hence will not say much about the suspension.
When A1 Radio contacted some of the said suspended party members, they declined to speak on the subject matter, with the assurance that they will respond at the appropriate time.
Meanwhile, A1 Radio’s sources have it that these suspended members during the 2020 elections were spotted openly campaigning for the lost New Patriotic Party’s parliamentary candidate, Reverend Emmanuel Abole to the neglect of their candidate Dr. Dominic Ayine.
