A Social Commentator and Executive Director of Northern Patriots for Research and Advocacy (NORPRA), Bismark Adongo Ayorogo has opined that while he believes that the Akufo-Addo led government may be committed to helping Ghana to develop, the President Nana Akufo-Addo and his Vice, Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia have very limited capacity and competency to properly manage the country.

He said this on A1 Radio’s Day Break Upper East after the Vice President held a public lecture on the economy.

“I sincerely believe that Nana Akufo-Addo and the Vice President want to help the country but this is what they can do. It is not like they can do better. They have limited capacity. They have limited competence. They cannot do more than what they can do. This is the maximum they can go”.

“If you look at the statements that they have been making in public when they were looking for the people’s mandate, it shows you that these people, they want to do it but the know-how is simply not there,” he said.

Mr. Adongo Ayorogo insisted that the NPP with genuine concern had put their best brains forward but unfortunately, they are not enough to address the problems of the country.

He said while the NPP government can continue to praise itself saying it is the best government since independent, it is left unto the citizens to decide whether there has been immense influence in their lives or not.

Meanwhile, a Communicator with the National Democratic Congress in the Upper East Region has posited that corruption, under the New Patriotic Party (NPP), is now a religion worshipped by its top members.

Speaking on A1 Radio’s Daybreak Upper East show, David Agorogo indicated that corrupt practices amongst top gurus of the party were of the few things that plunged the country’s economy into such distress.

He said “you see, the problem of this government is not coronavirus or Russia – Ukraine war, rather the test for richest. Every top official of this government is either corrupt or in the process of being corrupt. Corruption under this government is now a religion that they worship. Are we saying that it’s only Ghana that is suffering from the invasion of the Russia-Ukraine war or COVID-19? Just take a closer look at our neighbours in Burkina Faso, the economy doing well, Togo and others they are doing well. Corruption is so lucrative for them.”
