A member of the New Patriotic Party communications team in the Upper East Region Karim Ahmed Bediako has accused the ruling National Democratic Congress of clandestinely forming a new political party purposely to create confusion in the New Patriotic Party.
An interim General Secretary of the New Labour Party Listowel Kusi Poku in an interview with Azongo Albert, Wednesday said the New Labour Party will officially unveil its founding members at a yet to be held press conference on Friday. He alleged that some leading members of the opposition NPP are the brain behind the yet to be registered political party.
But in a reaction to the claims by Listowel Kusi Poku, member of the NPP communication team said the formation of the New Political Party is a handy work of the ruling party and meant to throw confusion and present the NPP as a party in chaos.
“What the young man is doing is what we call NDC propaganda and skims to create confusion and an impression that some NPP members are angry with the party and for that matter they are going to form a new political party. The United Front Party he claims to have resigned from and joining some NPP members should tell us about the history of that party. Ghanaians know very well that it is a pro-NDC political party. Because of what is going on within the NPP, this gentleman who said he is a card baring member of the UFP quickly resigned to join some so called NPP members to form a New Political Party. It is therefore false, a blatant lie and a propaganda piece of the NDC” he said.
He therefore called on all members of the NPP in the upper east region to ignore the claims and be rest assured that the New Patriotic Party is solidly united and ready to win the 2016 general elections.
