Popular travel vlogger and founder of VisitBolga, Dennis Apusika, has been selected to receive a national honor at the 2025 National Tourism Awards, recognizing his outstanding contribution to promoting tourism in Ghana’s Upper East Region.

The award, which celebrates excellence and innovation in the country’s tourism sector, acknowledges Apusika’s role in using digital storytelling to spotlight the region’s cultural heritage, scenic attractions, and local experiences through his platform, VisitBolga.

In a post on his official Facebook page, Apusika described the recognition as an “incredible honor,” crediting the achievement to the collective efforts of individuals and communities who share his vision for a thriving tourism industry in the north.

“This recognition is not just about me or VisitBolga—it’s a reflection of the collective effort, passion, and dedication of so many people who believe in the potential of tourism in the Upper East Region,” he wrote.

Apusika expressed gratitude to Wisdom Ahadzi, the outgoing Upper East Regional Director of the Ghana Tourism Authority, and his team for their mentorship and encouragement. He also thanked residents of the region for their continuous support, noting that their hospitality and cooperation have been key to the success of his work.

“This award belongs to all of us — every community, every dreamer, every hand that believes in the power of tourism to transform lives,” he added.

Apusika’s VisitBolga brand has become a leading voice in northern Ghana’s tourism promotion, showcasing destinations such as the Tongo Hills, Paga Crocodile Pond, Sirigu Art Village, and several other hidden gems of the Upper East Region.

The National Tourism Awards, organized annually by the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA), honors individuals and organizations that have demonstrated excellence and innovation in advancing Ghana’s tourism, hospitality, and creative arts industries.
