The Member of Parliament for Bolgatanga Central, Isaac Adongo, has refurbished the Sumbrungu Police Station as part of efforts to strengthen security and improve the working conditions of police personnel serving the area.
The Sumbrungu Police Station, which was completed in 2015, was established to provide security services to residents of Sumbrungu and surrounding communities following the rapid population growth driven by the presence of the Bolgatanga Technical University and other private investments. Despite its strategic importance, the facility had not undergone any major renovation since its construction.
A statement issued by the Bolgatanga Central Communication Bureau of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) indicated that the refurbishment was aimed at enhancing security delivery and improving operational efficiency at the station. The renovation has given the facility a renewed outlook, creating a more conducive environment for officers to carry out their duties effectively.
According to the statement, the intervention underscores the MP’s commitment to supporting state institutions, particularly the security services, in maintaining law and order within the constituency.
“A well-equipped police station is indispensable for the safety and security of our community. This refurbishment will enhance and elevate the efficacy of our police service and foster trust between the police and the community,” the statement noted.
Isaac Adongo has also expressed appreciation to the people of Sumbrungu for their continuous support, stressing the importance of strong collaboration between residents and law enforcement agencies in ensuring peace and security.
The statement indicated that residents and opinion leaders in the area have welcomed the refurbishment, describing it as timely and necessary, especially in view of the growing population and increased security demands within the community.
