The Upper East Regional Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Peter Ayinbisa, has expressed optimism about his chances as the party prepares for its upcoming internal elections, in which he is seeking to be elected.

Speaking on A1 Radio, Mr. Ayinbisa said support for his candidacy continues to grow across the region, citing increasing encouragement from party members in various constituencies who believe in continuity and stability within the party’s communications structure. He linked the call for continuity to the party’s broader agenda of maintaining experienced leadership as it prepares for the 2028 general elections.

“I think I am gaining more support. Day in, day out, I receive calls from various constituencies saying that they want continuity in policy. Just as we are maintaining Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as the flagbearer for the 2028 elections, they want to maintain Ayinbisa as the communications officer of the party for the region,” he said.

The incumbent communications director emphasized the need for a peaceful and respectful internal contest, stressing that the election process should be guided by dialogue rather than conflict. He underscored the importance of allowing delegates to freely choose their preferred candidate and rallying behind the outcome once the process is concluded.

“We don’t need to fight each other. We only need to jaw-jaw and allow the delegates to select the person they want. Once that is done, we are good to go,” he added.
