The Upper East Regional Minister, Donatus Akamugri Atanga, has launched Lion 1 TV, a new commercial television station in the region aimed at promoting business, culture, education and health.
The station was officially launched Feb. 7 in Bolgatanga and is currently available on Multi Digital Satellite platforms.
According to management, Lion 1 TV will broadcast educational programs, cultural heritage content and health-related information to audiences in the Upper East Region and beyond.
Speaking at the launch, Mr. Atanga said the establishment of the station would contribute to development in the region by expanding access to information and promoting local culture.
“It will enhance education, health awareness and the promotion of our cultural values by providing quality information to viewers,” he said.
The Chief Executive Officer of Lion 1 TV, Prophet Kenneth Afflu, popularly known as Prophet Lion One, said the station was created to serve the people of the Upper East Region and support development initiatives.
He called for collaboration among stakeholders to drive progress in the region and pledged to promote local music and cultural content.
Lion 1 TV operates from the same premises as Yem Radio in Bolgatanga, where the launch ceremony was held.
