The Member of Parliament for Bongo Constituency in the Upper East Region, Charles Bawa-Dua, has donated food items to support the Muslim community in the constituency during the holy month of Ramadan.

The donation, aimed at assisting families as they observe the sacred period of fasting and prayer, included essential items used in preparing Iftar, the meal taken to break the daily fast.

The items presented included 20 bags of sugar, 20 cartons of Ideal milk, and assorted boxes of tea.

According to the MP, the items will be distributed to mosques and households across the constituency to help ease the burden on families during the fasting period.

Mr. Bawa-Dua was accompanied by Madam Esther Akabzaa, Constituency Women Organizer; Mr. Ahmed Asaah, Constituency Zongo Caucus Coordinator; and Mr. Patrick Anamoo, Deputy Communication Officer, along with other party supporters.

Leaders of the Muslim community expressed gratitude to the Member of Parliament and the party leadership for what they described as a thoughtful gesture. They also offered prayers for the MP and asked for peace, unity and development in the constituency.

They said the donation reflects the strong relationship between the MP and the Muslim community, adding that the gesture demonstrates his commitment to the welfare of the people during the sacred month.

The outreach, they noted, further reinforces the MP’s dedication to inclusivity, compassion and community development in the Bongo Constituency.

As the Ramadan season continues, the beneficiaries said the gesture will support many families and mosques across the constituency.

Members of the Muslim community also offered prayers for the peaceful repose of the soul of the late District Chief Executive, asking Allah to grant him eternal rest.
