Evelyn Abingde, an NPP Upper East Regional Women’s Organizer hopeful, has criticised the region’s 15 National Democratic Congress (NDC) Members of Parliament for what she describes as inadequate development efforts.

Speaking on Bolga FM, Madam Abingde, who is also the Bolgatanga East Constituency Women’s Organizer for the NPP, said the MPs are not doing enough, citing boreholes as a minimal achievement.

“It’s unfortunate they mention boreholes as achievements,” Madam Abingde said. “We need development, not just boreholes. With 15 MPs, what are they doing to improve the region’s development?”

She emphasised that while access to water is crucial, it is not enough. She said MPs should support assemblies to provide quality water and also focus on education, healthcare, and road infrastructure.

“The region needs development projects,” Madam Abingde stressed, citing the poor nature of roads Talensi as an example.

The NPP Regional Women’s Organizer hopeful urged the MPs to prioritise these areas, adding, “Their government is in power; they can help assemblies with water and focus on other sectors.”
