A kologo musician from Bongo in the Upper East Region, Agudabesre Akulga Bia, is urging emerging artists to prioritise respect for industry elders, warning that arrogance can quickly derail careers.

Speaking in an interview on Bolga FM on April 23, 2026, Akulga Bia said respect remains a key factor in building a lasting and successful music career.

“Respect is more important than fame or talent,” he said, noting that it shapes relationships with fans, peers, and industry stakeholders.

He described the music industry as a close-knit space where reputation travels fast, stressing the need for artists to treat everyone with dignity, from fellow performers to event organisers and support staff.

According to him, collaboration is central to success in music, and artists who uplift others and remain humble are more likely to sustain long-term relevance.

“Disrespect or arrogance can damage a career instantly, as fans and peers may lose loyalty and support,” he cautioned.

He added that respect goes beyond politeness, it involves recognising the value others bring and creating opportunities for learning and partnership.

Akulga Bia advised young artists to stay open to growth, maintain humility, and focus on collective progress rather than competition.

“Success in this industry is interconnected. We grow by lifting each other,” he said.
