The Assembly Member for Yarigabisi Electoral Area, Adamu Apasinore, has secured nine boreholes for communities within the area through sustained lobbying and strategic partnerships, significantly improving access to clean water.
The latest intervention saw the commissioning of two boreholes at Agungabiisi and Awanebiisi on April 27, 2026, marking a major milestone in efforts to address water challenges in the electoral area.
The development brings to nine the total number of boreholes facilitated by the Assembly Member since he assumed office in 2023. Out of the total, four were provided through the Bolgatanga East District Assembly, while five were secured through collaboration with non-governmental organisations.
The provision of the boreholes is expected to ease the burden on residents who previously travelled long distances in search of potable water, while also improving sanitation and public health conditions in the beneficiary communities.
In addition to the water projects, Mr. Apasinore has extended support to education in the area by donating five boxes of mathematical sets to students writing the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).
The donation, comprising 60 mathematical sets, is aimed at supporting candidates for the 2026 and 2027 examinations, ensuring they are adequately equipped for their final assessments.
The Assembly Member noted that the intervention seeks to remove barriers that often hinder students’ performance, particularly in rural communities where access to basic learning materials can be limited.
Residents have welcomed the initiatives, describing them as timely interventions that address both immediate needs, such as water access, and long-term investments in education.
The projects form part of ongoing efforts to improve living conditions and promote development within the Yarigabisi Electoral Area.
