Former Upper East Regional Women’s Organizer of the NDC and Deputy Director General of Warehouse of NADMO, Hajia Charity Rahinatu Asoemah, has donated 30 sewing machines and GH₵5,000 cash to the Ghana National Tailors and Dressmakers Association (GNTDA) in Bolgatanga.

‎The donation was made during the 2026 graduation ceremony of the Bolgatanga Central Zone One branch of GNTDA, where Hajia Charity served as the guest of honor. According to her, the sewing machines are intended to help the association train more young people, especially young women, who want to pursue dressmaking in the region.

‎‎“This donation is to help the association train more young people, especially young ladies who want to become dressmakers,” she said.

‎‎Hajia Charity commended GNTDA for its consistent efforts in equipping the youth with employable skills and encouraged the association to expand its training programs. She also urged young ladies in the region to take their handiwork seriously and stay committed to building a better future through vocational training. ‎

‎“I want to admonish the youth of this region, especially the ladies, to take their handiwork seriously and become better people in the future,” she said.

‎The former NDC Women’s Organizer pledged her continued support to the association, promising to assist whenever the need arises.

The ceremony also saw the Bolgatanga Central Zone One branch graduate 73 apprentices in 2026. The association’s leadership used the occasion to call on the government to take a keen interest in the work of local dressmakers and provide support to help graduates establish their own businesses instead of migrating for job opportunities.
