The National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) will conduct a free registration, renewal, and card replacement exercise in the Bolgatanga Municipality on Friday, May 22, 2026. The initiative is aimed at making it easier for residents to register as new members, renew existing memberships, and replace lost or misplaced NHIS cards at no cost.

According to the Municipal Public Relations Officer of the NHIS, Linda Boakye, officers will be stationed at key locations across the municipality, including the old market, the new market, and various lorry parks. The teams will be equipped with registration machines to facilitate the process.

She said the exercise will also include retrieving information for clients who have lost their NHIS cards, enabling them to obtain replacements free of charge. The initiative forms part of the NHIS’s effort to ensure uninterrupted access to health insurance coverage for all residents.

Ms. Boakye urged the public to take advantage of the exercise to register, renew, or replace their NHIS cards without any fees. She made the remarks during an interview on Bolga FM’s Tingmaalgo Sanga programme on May 20, 2026.

Residents of the Bolgatanga Municipality are encouraged to visit the designated locations on May 22 to benefit from the service and secure their health insurance coverage for the coming year.
