Baani Karim Ramatu, a political activist, has declared her intention to contest for the position of NPP Women Organizer for the Wa East Constituency, calling on both the youth and the elderly to rally behind her.
A product of the University of Business and Integrated Development Studies (UBIDS), Wa, Ms. Baani said her bid is driven by a passion for grassroots development and women’s empowerment ahead of the 2028 general elections.

In a statement on her ambition, Ms. Baani said she is committed to representing all women and strengthening the base of the party from the grassroots.
“The grassroots matters. I am contesting to represent all women, empowering the women to lead. Working towards victory 2028,” she stated.
She urged support from both the youth and the elderly to help her win the Women Organizer position.
Ms. Baani is a product of TESCON, UBIDS Wa, the tertiary wing of the NPP.
She served as an executive from Level 200 through to her final year, including as Women Commissioner, and was described as a committed and hardworking patriot.
She is also a commander in the party’s Loyal Ladies group, which aims to empower young women to take an interest in politics, especially within the NPP.
Known for being vocal, confident, and eloquent in public spaces, Ms. Baani says her experience in student politics and women’s mobilization has prepared her to lead women in Wa East.
The aspiring Women Organizer said her campaign will prioritize mobilization, mentorship for young women, and ensuring the voices of grassroots women are heard in party decisions.
Party delegates in Wa East are expected to vote for new executives in the coming months, beginning in July 2026, as the NPP prepares its structures for the 2028 elections.
