A 42-member security volunteer group known as The Lions of NPP’ has been launched in the Upper East Region to strengthen security and s’upport the activities of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) ahead of future political engagements.

The group, which draws its membership from constituencies across the region, was inaugurated under the motto “Be Bold to Do the Right Thing”, with the objective of providing security, protecting party interests, and enhancing the NPP’s organisational activities at both the constituency and regional levels.

Addressing members during the inauguration, the leader of the group, Adure Anthony, said the formation of ‘The Lions of NPP’ was driven by commitment to the growth and success of the party rather than personal interests.

“We are not here for ourselves; we are here because we believe in our party, and we are committed to serving it with discipline, loyalty, and dedication,” he stated.

According to him, members of the group are prepared to safeguard the party’s activities and provide support during community engagements, political programmes, and election campaigns.

“As party security members, we are ready to protect, support, and work tirelessly for the success of our party. We are prepared to stand with the party in every community, at every programme, and during every campaign,” Mr. Anthony assured.

He called on members to remain united, disciplined, and committed to the principles of the party while discharging their responsibilities professionally.

Regional and constituency executives of the NPP who attended the inauguration commended the establishment of The Lions of NPP, describing it as a timely initiative that would strengthen the party’s grassroots structures and improve coordination during party activities.

The executives urged members to conduct themselves in a peaceful, law-abiding, and professional manner, stressing that discipline and respect for the rule of law should guide all their operations.

They expressed confidence that the newly inaugurated group would play a significant role in promoting unity, safeguarding party programmes, and contributing to the NPP’s efforts to reorganise and position itself strongly for the 2028 general elections.

The launch forms part of ongoing efforts by the party in the Upper East Region to strengthen its internal structures and mobilise members as preparations gradually begin for the next electoral cycle.
