An aspiring Upper East Regional Youth Organizer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Jonathan Abugre, popularly known as Contempt, has unveiled a policy agenda centered on youth empowerment, skills development, welfare, and election preparedness as he seeks the support of the party’s student wing ahead of the regional executive elections.

Speaking at a meeting with Presidents of the Tertiary Students Confederacy (TESCON) at the Akayet Hotel in Bolgatanga, the current Bongo Constituency Youth Organizer described TESCON as the intellectual backbone and future leadership reservoir of the NPP, pledging to make the student wing a top priority if elected.

Mr. Abugre said his administration would establish regular engagement platforms to ensure TESCON members actively contribute to decision-making within the Youth Wing.

He also announced plans to partner with reputable institutions to provide members with certified training in digital literacy, data analytics, cybersecurity, and other technological skills to enhance their competitiveness in the job market.

According to him, an academic and mentorship programme dubbed the TESCON Academic Clinic would connect students with experienced professionals, academics, and party leaders to provide career guidance and leadership mentoring.

On welfare, the aspiring Youth Organizer pledged to champion health support initiatives, including periodic health screening, National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) registration and renewal assistance, first-aid support systems, and health education for TESCON members across the region.

Mr. Abugre further outlined an Election Day Army Blueprint, which he said would strengthen campaign readiness through improved communication networks, polling agent support, and youth mobilization ahead of the 2028 general elections.

He also proposed organizing annual TESCON conferences, leadership seminars, health walks, and capacity-building programmes to build unity and competence among young party members.

Additionally, he pledged to establish a TESCON Legacy Fund to support brilliant but financially challenged students facing academic and emergency needs.

The aspiring Regional Youth Organizer stressed that his campaign was built on accountability, promising to provide regular updates on programmes and achievements if given the mandate to serve.

Mr. Abugre appealed to TESCON leaders to support his vision of rebuilding and strengthening the NPP Youth Wing, saying collective commitment would position the party for victory in the Upper East Region and beyond.
