The New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Upper East Regional Women’s Organiser, Georgina Ayamba, has filed her nomination to contest the position of Regional First Vice Chairperson as the party begins preparations for its regional executive elections.

Ayamba submitted her nomination on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, seeking to move from her role as the party’s women’s wing leader into one of the NPP’s top regional leadership positions ahead of the 2028 general elections.

Her decision follows years of service within the party, including her tenure as Deputy Regional Women’s Organiser and two consecutive terms as Regional Women’s Organiser.

She said the experience has strengthened her understanding of party organization, grassroots mobilisation and inclusive leadership, which she intends to bring to the regional executive level.

“By God’s grace and your support, I have served as Deputy Regional Women’s Organiser and for two terms as Regional Women’s Organiser. Those years taught me party organisation, grassroots mobilisation and the power of inclusive leadership,” Ayamba said after filing her nomination.

She pledged to use her experience to support the Regional Chairman and contribute to rebuilding the party’s structures ahead of the 2028 general elections.

“I am offering that experience, proven leadership and unwavering commitment to support our Regional Chairman and to help position the NPP for a resounding Victory 2028,” she stated.

Describing herself as a “servant leader,” Ayamba called for unity among party members and promised to promote inclusive leadership focused on the collective interest of the NPP.

“I remain your servant leader. I am here for all of us,” she added.

Ayamba’s candidacy adds to growing competition for leadership positions as the NPP reorganizes its structures across the country following the 2024 general election defeat.
