Don’t take us back to our “dark days” – Bawku Naba to subjects

The Paramount Chief of the Bawku Traditional area, Naba Asigri Abugrago Azoka II has called on the regional minister, Hon Rockson Bukari to support the security agencies in the Bawku Traditional area in order for them to continue their good work of ensuring that the people enjoy relative peace.

He made this call when the Regional Minister paid a courtesy call on him weeks after he was appointed to the high office.

According to the Chief, the efforts of the security agencies and the Bawku Inter-Ethnic Peace Committee and other related stakeholders has ensured that his people enjoy relative peace and therefore called on the minister to continuously support them to undertake their mandate.

He assured the Regional Minister of his unflinching support for his administration in order to help execute his development agenda in the Upper East region.

He, however, used the opportunity to call on his subjects to be law abiding and prevent Bawku from visiting its dark days so that economic activities will boom and they can also enjoy the needed development.

Naba Asigri Abugrago Azoka II was, however, glad that the new government has promised to continue projects of the previous government which is dear to his heart; the Bolgatanga-Bawku-Pulmakom Highway, the Tammne Irrigation Dam.

On his part, the regional minister, Hon. Rockson Ayine Bukari promised to channel all their needs and grievances to his President Akufo-Addo but called for the support of the Chief and his Divisional chiefs in order to ensure the Upper East region gets its fair share of the national cake.

He called on chiefs not to hesitate in giving out lands whenever there is the need for lands for developmental projects.
