Soorebia, Upper East Frafra rap sensation has won Live fm’s rapper of the week on the stations evening drive show, route 919.
The program run by the Accra-based media house selects songs from up and coming rappers across the country and has fans vote to select the best song.
The Upper East Regional rep in the season 2 of MTN Hitmaker was named Live FM’s artiste of the week after accruing 47% of the total votes cast on the day and is expected to battle it out with other three artistes who also won in previous weeks to select a champion.
Soorebia who is currently promoting his new hit-single, Primus released on 1st September this year, took to twitter to thank his fans and all who voted for the confidence reposed in him.
The single which has enjoyed enormous airplay on radio in the country featured Ayilla Peace and was produced by Azkona Beats.
Meanwhile, speaking to A1 Radio’s Lexis on the station’s weekend entertainment show, e-zone, Soorebia expressed his joy at how far his song has gone and believes he will make a mark in the Ghanaian music industry.
He however impressed on Dj’s in the Region to give their songs enough airtime saying “we need to appreciate our own. Dj’s in Bolgatanga should play our songs on air so that we can build frafra music and take it to a higher level.”
