DKM Liquidation is a Mere Propaganda- Concerned Customers

Concerned Customers of DKM in the Brong-Ahafo Region have said that the decision to liquidate assets of the now defunct microfinance company to pay off their investments is propaganda meant to water down the apprehension following the scandal.

Thousands of affected customers are thronging to selected centers in the affected regions to submit copies of deposit slips for onward submission to the Registrar General’s Department for a validation and subsequent liquidation of assets of the company to settle the livid customers.

This move appears to have failed to excite the apprehensive customers who still express some level of skepticism over the prospects of the initiative.

Speaking to A1 Radio’s Day Break Upper East show, Tuesday, spokesperson for the customers Maxwell Mahama said liquidating assets of the company has rather come late and would not yield the needed results but a mere propaganda following the President’s intended visit to the Brong-Ahafo region.

“We ascribe the appointment of a liquidator as propaganda and mischief. Why the liquidator now? Let’s ask ourselves that question. I was trying to draw your attention that because His Excellency president Mahama is coming to the Brong-Ahafo region that is why there is the existence of a liquidator just to do serious political mischief and propaganda,” he said.

According to him, the month of May would mark exactly one year since the moratorium was placed on the microfinance company while its license was revoked in February 2016 and hence the need for a liquidator should have been accomplished within that period.

While calling on President Mahama to as part of his Accounting to the People’s Tour to the region to “account” to them on the state of his promise to help retrieve their monies, the customers say it is their wish that government bails them out even if it has to go and borrow.
