Tamale on Sunday October 2, 2016 witnessed what some have referred to as ‘the event of the century’ as one of Africa’s music stars, Davido, performed live at the Tamale sports stadium in the Northern region of Ghana.
The night also witnessed performances from Northern region’s three most popular artistes, Fancy Gadam, Maccasio and Ataaka.
However, radio personality and entertainment analyst with Kesmi FM in Tamale, Ewurama Attoh, thinks bringing Davido to Tamale was not necessary.
Ewurama who spoke to A1radio’s Lexis on the station’s afternoon drive show, Sunset Drive said the goal of the event was not achieved because “the whole idea was to hype Ataaka and have him shine but that wasn’t the case at the end.”
She opined that the huge money spent on bringing Davido to Tamale could have been channeled into Radio and Television promotions which would have better marketed the artiste and given him the needed recognition.
