Aggrieved Customers of defunct DKM Diamond Micro finance in the upper east region have expressed their thanks to the Liquidator for publishing the full list of clients who  have had their investments locked up with DKM but has called on the Liquidator to come clear on the amount to be paid to them.

The Official Liquidator for DKM earlier published 998 names of customers who had been validated for payment of their locked up cash out of over 6,000 customers.

This move angered customers who thought it was a ploy to throw dust into the eyes of customers and use a few 998 customers as an avenue to gain points from the government that DKM customers have been paid.

However, the full list of customers in the upper east region who had been validated was published on Wednesday October 12.

Speaking on A1 Radio’s Day Break Upper East show with Azongo Albert, Chairman of the Group, Charles Ayambire, said they (Customers) were grateful that the full list had been published but indicated that they have been kept in the dark throughout the processes involved in selling the properties of the Micro finance to offset their debt and are even unaware of monies they will be paid.

He mentioned that “we wish you could come clear on how much you are paying DKM customers; we are looking forward to our deposits as previously stated by the President of the Republic of Ghana; His Excellency John Dramani Mahama and the Governor of Bank of Ghana, Dr. Abdul-Nasiru Issahaku.

Mr. Charles however, warned the aggrieved customers against agreeing to sign their consent if they are not given an appreciable amount when the liquidator starts the payment process saying “that is why we are telling customers not to agree to just any amount because that could spell doom for them.”

He was of the hope that the President and other stakeholders are observing proceedings and will not remain silent on the issue to ensure that aggrieved customers are not shortchanged but are given their due investments.

DKM Diamond Micro finance became defunct after the company was forced to suspend operations over a year ago after the industry regulator; the Bank of Ghana, found that it had flouted some regulations in the financial industry.

Payment of claims by validated claimants would commence on 17th October, 2016 at the GCB Bank, Bolgatanga branch.
