Spokesperson for Nana Akuffo Addo has hinted that their 2012 presidential candidate would reiterate his commitment to peace at a public opportunity such as the impending anniversary celebration of the Party.

The NPP man dropped the hint on Joy FM’s Top Story following President when Otumfuo called upon Nana Addo their 2012 presidential candidate two months ago, the spokesperson buttressed his point.

But, what the party would not do is to organize a press conference to make peace pledges merely because president Mahama had made one, Mustapha said in response to a question from the host on when the 2012 presidential candidate would reiterate its pledge.

The party’s politics is not dictated by the president’s statement at functions, he suggested.

Nonetheless, if a public opportunity presents itself, the candidate would re- assure the country of peace irrespective of where the final decision goes.

An immediate opportunity could be the 21st anniversary celebration of the NPP, he hinted.

He concluded that keeping the peace is a duty of the President that needed no applause.
