The leader and founder of All Peoples Congress, Hassan Ayariga has said the biggest mistake former President John Dramni Mahama did was appointing Mrs. Charllote Osei as the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission.
“The worst decision John Mahama made in his entire life as President has been appointing Charllote Osei as the Electoral Commission chairperson. I have always said this that John did a big mistake appointing that woman,” Mr. Ayariga told A1 Radio’s Christopher Asima.
He indicated that her incompetence is gradually becoming visible because “she herself has indicated that her deputies do not respect her. Her deputies are signing illegal contracts and she is not aware and she cannot even control the affairs of the commission”.
He questioned if the Electoral Commission chair did a good job during the 2016 elections considering the ongoing impasse in her office.
He called on the President to make every official of the electoral commission to proceed on leave to allow for investigations into the several allegations leveled against them.
“The commissioners at the electoral commission should all be made to proceed on leave so that EOCO and other investigative bodies to look into the rot at the electoral commission in order to bring some sanity into the system,” Ayariga said in an interview with A1 Radio.
