The Deputy Minister of Agriculture, William Quaitoo has resigned over his ethnocentric comments about the people of Northern Ghana.

Director of Communication, Eugene Arhin announcing this in a post on Facebook indicated that the President had received letter and has wished him well in his endeavors.

“The President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, this evening accepted the resignation from office of the Deputy Minister for Agriculture, Hon. William Quaitoo, MP, which takes immediate effect. The President wished him the very best in his future endeavours.”

William Quaitoo was the centre of attacks on social media and other platforms for describing people from Northern Ghana as difficult and lies.

Although the Deputy Minister apologized, the apology did not sit well with Ghanaians and especially people from Northern Ghana who demanded for his sack from office.
