A member of the Peoples National Convention (PNC) Communication team in the Upper East region, Johnson Ayine has said it is better to be a hypocrite rather than tell the truth as a politician.

His comments comes a day after Ghana’s Ambassador to South Africa told a group of NPP members that if he had his way, he would have provided employment opportunities for members of the New Patriotic Party before he considers other Ghanaians.

Speaking on Daybreak Upper East on A1 Radio, Johnson Ayine said “at times you need to be a hypocrite considering the position you occupy and that is a positive hypocrisy. You can discriminate but that should be exclusively to you because you are dealing with a lot of people. You can help people of your party but you should not make such statements in public”.

Although condemning the comments by the South African Ambassador, Johnson Ayine indicated that the NPP needs to support members of their political party like other governments have done in the past.

He indicated that the party has failed its members because although there are opportunities available, they have not supported members of the NPP to secure employment they promised them while coming into government.

Johnson Ayine said the vigilantism ongoing in the country is because most appointees and people in government have failed to even pick calls of the same people who supported them to take power from the NDC . He called on the President to condemn people whose comments cloud all the good things he is doing to make Ghana a better place.
