The President, Nana Akufo-Addo has asked Chiefs and elders of the Bawku Traditional area to maintain the relative peace they are enjoying or risk not enjoying their fair share of the national cake.

The President said this while addressing the Chief of the area, Naba Asigri Abugrago II and his elders who visited the seat of government.

He said all developmental plans of government for the area may not be implemented. He further assured the chiefs of his continued support to help maintain peace and order in the Bawku Traditional Area.

The President used the opportunity to call on the people of the Traditional area and their Chiefs to ensure that they help in the fight against the smuggling of products meant for the Planting for Food and Jobs Policy.

He added that the fertiliser and other items provided for farmers in the Bawku area is not meant for Burkina Faso nor Togo, and that those who are allowed to smuggle them end up enriching themselves at the expense of the whole of the Ghanaian populace.

On his part, Naba Asigri Abugrago II said he and his Chiefs will work effortlessly to ensure that the people of Bawku enjoy the relative peace they are currently enjoying.
